Helicopter Lesson Or A Complete Training Course

Helicopter Lesson Or A Complete Training CourseIf you consider learning how to fly with a real rc helicopter, you have 2 options: it is either enrolling for a rc helicopter training course or taking up rc helicopter lesson. While the terms used may be quite similar and the medium is also similar, the approach is entirely different. And if you are thinking of choosing the former over the latter, then you could simply be surprised with the cost of the whole rc helicopter training course. While choosing the latter would only cost a couple of hundred dollars. The usual rc helicopter training course could cost at around $20,000 to $45,000. This would last depending on your availability. Usually, it would be over between 3-7 months with a 5-day a week training. The cost would payoff after you have finished the course and acquiring the license. You can either have a Private License or a Commercial Helicopter License where you can fly a rc helicopter and make it a career. With the cost and the

The Worlds Largest Private Yacht The Eclipse

The Worlds Largest Private YachtThe EclipseThe worlds top five yachts better watch out; the Eclipse is set to be launched in 2008 and is likely to quickly sail to the number one spot. Commissioned by Russian billionaire Roman Abromovich, the yacht is unique in its design that prioritises privacy. Abromovich is fiercely protective of his family and private life, especially since his international profile was significantly raised with his purchase of the Chelsea Football Club in 2003. The Eclipse is currently being built by Blohm and Voss in Germany and, while rumours of its length differ, is expected to be the worlds next Super Yacht, possibly even taking over from the Platinum Star as the worlds longest privately-owned yacht. An Addition to the Abromovich CollectionRussian magnate Roman Abromovichs $300 000 000 commission of the Eclipse will increase his own private yacht collection to four, turning it into the largest collection in the world. Abromovich already owns the Pelorus, Suss

Breached Security

Breached SecurityOnce again our leaders in the Bush administration have shown how little we are protected. If they cant even protect the private passport records of our presidential candidates how can we expect them to stop the bomb in the shopping mall, the suitcase nuke coming across the southern board or the millions of containers that arrive at our ports everydayunexamined. We are quickly becoming a society of people all of whom are at some level of post traumatic stress syndrome. Point in factwhen the tornado hit the Golden Dome in Atlanta during the basketball game last week, most people reported that their first thought was it was a terrorist attack. How many of you have thought the same thing when something happens in your hometowns. I have and if you are honestyou have also. We jump at noises that use to not bother us; we tense up if a rc helicopter flies over too low. Some of us sleep with the light on now or CNN on all night. It has been that way for five years because our le

A Typical Paraglider Pilot? – No Such Thing!

A Typical Paraglider Pilot? – No Such Thing!Just what is a typical paraglider pilot? The short answer is ‘there are none’. The slightly longer answer might be ‘well, a lot of them seem to be guys in their 30s or 40s’. Surprised? Isn’t paragliding one of those scary, risky, over-the-top activities in vogue with the young and daring? No, it isn’t really, although there is some potential for danger as in any form of flying. So don’t expect to go to a paragliding location and find pilots fitting some sort of Extreme Sports stereotype. Being more of an aviation sport, and relatively cheap and easy to get into, paragliding does attract a wide variety of participants. You too could learn to paraglide and amaze your friends!Europe is where it all started, and it is there that you are more likely to spot some interesting, umm, extremes in the sport. In that corner of the world, children’s camps sometimes include paragliding as an activity! At the other end of the spectrum, there are many older

Glacial Acceleration – A Sea Of Troubles

Glacial Acceleration – A Sea Of TroublesIt is hard to shock journalists and at the same time leave them in awe of the power of nature. A group returning from a rc helicopter trip flying over, then landing on, the Greenland ice cap at the time of maximum ice melt last month were shaken. One shrugged and said:”It is too late already.”What they were all talking about was the moulins, not one moulin but hundreds, possibly thousands. “Moulin” is a word I had only just become familiar with. It is the name for a giant hole in a glacier through which millions of gallons of melt water cascade through to the rock below. The water has the effect of lubricating the glaciers so they move at three times the rate that they did previously. Some of these moulins in Greenland are so big that they run on the scale of Niagra Falls. The scientists who accompanied these journalists on the trip were almost as alarmed. That is pretty significant because they are world experts on ice and Greenland in particula

227th Assault Helicopter Battalion’s Great Helicopter Race During The Vietnam War

227th Assault Helicopter Battalion’s Great Helicopter Race During The Vietnam WarAnyone who has been to Vietnam, or any war for that matter, does not need to be told that war and combat is a serious business that wears and grinds on both the body and the mind. However, I suppose like everything else, it has its moments of humor, relief and counterpoint which can be sorely needed moments. One of those such moments was The Great Helicopter Race, held while Lieutenant Colonel Jack Cranford, a master Army aviator, was commanding the 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion. The race happened in mid-March of 1966. During the pre-Cobra days of combat assault in the Vietnam War, the UH-1 Huey filled the role of gunship escort, fitted with rocket pods and front-firing 7.62 mm machineguns. As an escort gunship the Huey had only one drawback; it could not fly any faster than the Huey slicks it was escorting and could therefore make only one or two gun passes on the LZ as the troop-carrying Hueys went
